BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION, CONCEALER AND POWDER

I have wanted to try the Bourjois Healthy Mix range for years and after reading and watching countless reviews I have finally bought the foundation, concealer and also the Healthy Balance powder to try too. It was about time I tried something new.

LET'S TALK ABOUT... CONCEALER

Today we are talking concealer and I have not one, not two but three favourites to share. They're all available at Boots or Superdrug which makes them affordable and easy to get hold of if you live in the UK.

NEW IN: MAYBELLINE

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and Colour Tattoo Creme De Rose

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and Colour Tattoo Creme De Rose

Maybelline are one of my favourite makeup brands, I reach for their products on a daily basis as I know the formula of their products are great and will last all day. As usual, I can't keep away from Superdrug for too long, and it just so happened that I bought two new products on my last visit, both of which from Maybelline.

After reading countless reviews of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and all of my friends using and loving it, I had to give it a go. This is one of the best mascaras I have ever tried. I know, I know, if you read back through all of my mascara reviews, then I've probably said that about every single one of them. But, I have never used a mascara before that has completely transformed my eyelashes in 1 coat, and with the Lash Sensational, it does just that. The wand is curved with small bristles on the tip and longer bristles on the outer edge which elongates your outer lashes, opening up your eyes. The formula is the perfect consistency for me and holds my lashes in place all day.

Another of the Colour Tattoo's has made it into my make-up collection. I now own four... There is no shame in that is there? Creme De Rose has filled a gap in my collection as I've been looking for a neutral eyeshadow base for a long while. When Maybelline recently bought out their two new shades, I originally thought I would pick up Creme De Nude which has a yellow undertone where as Creme De Rose is pink. But after comparing the two, I bought Creme De Rose as it is very neutral and makes a great base for paler eyeshadows, for example, MAC 'All That Glitters' or the Maybelline Colour Show Eyeshadow 'Copper Fizz'. It has a matte formula and cancels out any veins on your eye lid and primes them for eyeshadow.

I have been wearing both of these products everyday for the past few weeks and I am very glad I now have them in my collection.

What products from Maybelline have you been loving recently?

FOUNDATION FINDS

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

Foundation when applied right can make your skin look flawless and transform your whole make-up look. I'm not saying that we all need to wear or buy foundation, but recently I have found that a high coverage concealer applied pretty much everywhere on a bad skin day doesn't quite cut it.

When I first started blogging the one make-up purchase I used to put off the most was foundation. I was always told 'you're skin is wonderful, you don't need it' or 'it's a waste of money at your age' but I eventually gave in and asked for my first foundation last Christmas, the L'Oreal True Match Foundation.

In recent weeks I have accumulated 3 new foundations to try which filled me with excitement as each formula is very different...

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

THE GLOW GETTER : The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation-£8.99* is definitely the most dewy foundation out of the three. It contains tiny gold glitter flecks which once applied to the face give your skin a healthy radiant glow. If your skin is dry and lacks lustre then this is certainly one for you. Even though my skin verges on oily sometimes I haven't found that this foundation makes me look sweaty. I think that this foundation during Summer should be applied sparingly to give a light coverage which isn't too heavy on the skin and apply a light dusting of bronzer to give a bronzed goddess effect, great if you're on holiday.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

THE LIGHT-MEDIUM COVERAGE: Enter the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation-£5.99, a light but buildable coverage foundation with a watery consistency. I bought this foundation for prom as I was looking for a foundation with no SPF which wouldn't cause any awkward flashback in photos. I loved wearing it that night, it was weightless on my skin and lasted well without fading or melting off during the evening. The applicator is slightly strange as there is no pump, you have to drop the foundation onto the back of your hand using a pipette. I have found that shaking the bottle before use combines the formula as the formula is very runny and can separate easily.

THE RADIANT SKIN PERFECTER: I have to say, my favourite of the three has to be the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation-£6.99*. It sits on top of my skin nicely, doesn't fade awkwardly and gives coverage in the places I need it without forming a mask on top of my skin. I like wearing this foundation for work and apply half a pump onto the back of my hand and apply to the areas of my face that need the coverage, at the moment that is my forehead and chin, and then blend to make sure it sits on my skin seamlessly.

What's your favourite foundation?

LAUNCH OF ACCESSORIZE BEAUTY

I'm not usually the person that receives many emails, so my inbox isn't the most exciting of places. However, on my walk back to work on Tuesday last week, my phone buzzed and the words Press Office: Launch Of Accessorize Cosmetics printed up on my screen. I opened the email to find that Monsoon, yes you read that right, were inviting me to visit Jar Kitchen, a very swish cafe on Drury Lane might I add, to celebrate the launch of their new cosmetics line.

My friend Alex and I set off early on Friday morning, jumped on the tube at our local station and headed for Holborn. When we arrived at the cafe we were greeted with many excited bloggers, journalists and of course some of the lovely staff from Accessorize, the people that made the wonderful event happen. As we walked through the door, beside us was a table showcasing all of their new products encased in glass sweet jars, alongside jars of marshmallows, wrapped sherbet sweets and flying saucers. After being told about the line and a little bit about each of the new exciting products we were guided to a table to have a manicure. From a selection of their new nail polishes I chose to have the shade 'In the nude', a very pretty pale muted peach, on every nail apart from my ring finger on which I had painted with the shade 'Mermaid' a gorgeous turquoise glitter with flecks of green and orange. Alex on the other hand chose to have her nails painted with Deep Sea, a metallic navy blue and then the shade 'Party Dress' on her ring fingers. 'Party Dress' is a stunning pink and turquoise chunky glitter with flecks of green.

We were also kindly given a goody bag each with the pick and mix theme, we could choose any products from the sweet jars and take them home to try, which I think was a fantastic idea. I chose lots of products which I am sure you will see in upcoming blogposts. We were immediately attracted to the nail polishes, encased in geometric bottles with a vast colour range and also their Light Me Up Gloss collection.

If you love rose gold, polka dots and pastel coloured packaging as much as I do, I am sure you will love their new line!

Have you heard about Accessorize's new collection? Is there anything you want to try?

Lauren
