MAGNITONE LUCID CLEANSING BRUSH REVIEW

MAGNITONE LUCID-DAZZLING BLUE-£69.99*

Skincare is certainly one of my favourite things and, I have to admit that I don't ever skip removing my make-up at night and doing my skincare routine no matter how tired I feel.

A few weeks ago a new skincare gadget fell through my letter box and I couldn't wait to give it a go. Once I had given it a charge (which Magnitone recommend to maximise it's battery life) I put it to the test. During your first week of use, Magnitone also recommend that you use the sensitive setting to allow your skin to come to terms with using it for the first time. Can I just point out how easy it is to  use? One button on the front of the device which you press once for a normal cleanse and twice for sensitive. That's it! So if you aren't a fan of using complicated gadgets then I think this is the right product for you.

After applying my cleanser onto my dry face, my current cleanser of choice is the No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, perfect for giving your skin a good clean whilst being gentle on the skin, I switch on the Magnitone and let it work it's magic. I gently move it around my face for 1 minute and to make sure you cleanse your face for the correct amount of time, the Magnitone not only automatically stops after 1 minute but also beeps every 20 seconds to remind you to move onto the next part of your face. I then use a warm flannel to remove the cleanser from my skin and proceed with the rest of my skincare routine.

The Magnitone Lucid can be used in the morning or evening and is fully waterproof so you can use it in the shower so you don't add any time onto your day. How do you charge something that's waterproof? In the box you also receive a magnetic charger which then attaches itself to the front of the device and then you plug in the cord which attaches to the plug.

Don't let the price put you off, this cleanser brush will last a lifetime and once bought you can share it with your family as long as you each have your own brush head. What's more, Magnitone have given me a 20% off discount code for you to use if you decide to purchase your very own Magnitone Lucid. If blue isn't your colour, there is also pink, mint green and yellow to choose from so a colour perfect for everyone. To receive 20% off your Magnitone Lucid, click here, and use the discount code LaurenD20 which will make it come to £56.00.

Overall I have found this to be a fantastic edition to my skincare routine and it will be especially useful during the rest of my exam season as I am unfortunately prone to stress spots and so far, this is keeping them at bay. I love how gentle this is on the skin and takes only one minute per day to use.

Have you tried the Magnitone Lucid?

BEAUTY LOVES: APRIL

I'm back again, with another instalment of Beauty Loves, a round up of what I have been loving over the past month.

Recently I seem to have accumulated a few mascaras to try, so I will slowly work my way through trying each of them as I really don't see the point in having three different mascaras on the go. Unfortunately, my sample of Benefit Roller Lash was becoming slightly dried up and past it's best so I reached into my make-up draws and opened up the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes 'So Couture So Black' Mascara and I have been blown away. I think this has to be the best mascara I have ever tried and that is a big statement for me to make. I find that it holds a curl all day, separates my lashes and adds volume and it doesn't go clumpy if you add more coats, my perfect mascara. I certainly recommend you try this if you are in the market for a new mascara.

I have to admit that when I first received the Billion Dollar Brows 'Hint of a tint' and Brow powder to try I was very apprehensive about the colour match and whether the products would be too dark for my brows. I shouldn't have worried as I use both products daily to achieve natural brows. I am certainly not one of those people that spends a lot of money or time on my brows so I just comb through them, shape them a little with the Brow Powder and then set with the Brow Gel and I'm ready to take on the world. What I really love about these products though is that they last all day and don't make your brows crunchy.

When I recently went into Mac, I chose three eyeshadows to try, one of which was 'All That Glitters', a champagne with a pink/peach hue. This eyeshadow would suit all skin tones as it creates a gorgeous wash of shimmer over the eye. It is certainly worth investing in, as I can see it being one of my all time favourite eyeshadows.

Recently, I haven't been missing out bronzer in my daily makeup routine, and I have been reaching for the Soap and Glory Solar Powder to add some colour back onto my pale complexion. If you haven't tried this, it's certainly worth it. The powder is very creamy and easy to blend and it works well as a contour and bronzer, you could even use it as an eyeshadow, so it's a good multi-task product.

You all know how much I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's as a base before eyeshadow, but when recently looking back into my collection I noticed that I hadn't used the L'Oreal Eye Primer Crayon in a while. It's a great neutral waxy pencil which corrects any veins or discolouration on the eyelid. Due to the waxy consistency it is quite difficult to blend, but I like to apply some to my finger tips and then gently take it across the eyelid.

Are there any products you have loved using in April?

NEUTRAL EYE-MAKEUP

Eyeshadows are my one weakness and whenever I go into Boots, Superdrug or a department store. I could happily come out with all of the eye-shadows that they have available and put them to use, obviously that isn't realistic but I can dream. On a day to day basis, I don't have time to blend 14 different eye-shadows together in the crease of my eye, to my disgust, so here are the products I have been reaching for, to achieve an inexpensive but gorgeous everyday eyeshadow look, which is completely fuss free.

To begin the look, I apply some of the Maybelline Leather Effect Cream Eye Shadow 'Creamy Beige' onto my eyelid using my finger and blend. When blending with your finger, it is much better for your eyes if you use your ring finger as it is less harsh on the delicate eye area as your other fingers. I love how simple Maybelline's Colour Tattoo's are to apply and they help your eye make-up last all day.

On a recent trip to Boots I bought the L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow 'Cafe Saint Germain' which is a shimmer eye shadow with a gel infused formula. It's a incredibly unique colour, a cool toned taupe with a hint of silver, which would look amazing on both blue and green eyes. I apply this on top of the Maybelline base and blend using a brush. Finally, to add some warmth and blend any harsh edges, I like to use the Maybelline Colour Show Eye Shadow 'Stripped Nude'. The matte eyeshadow helps to bring the look together and I find for a day time look, it mutes the shimmer of the L'Oreal eye shadow slightly making it appropriate for everyday.

And that's it. Just apply your favourite mascara and your eyes are complete. If you wanted to change the look, you could apply some winged eye liner or use a black kohl eye liner to your upper and lower waterline before applying your mascara. If you wanted to take this eye shadow look from day to night, apply a dark brown eye shadow to the crease of your eye and your lower lash line, following up by applying a champagne shimmer eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyes to make them pop.

What's your favourite everyday eye shadow look?
