FUSS FREE LIP PRODUCTS

As you will know, when it comes to lip products I am not the most adventurous person you will ever meet. I am definitely a neutrals girl and I love muted pink/brown shades which add a hint of something to the lips. If you are like me, you will love this blogpost as here's a round up of my favourite 'fuss free' lip products.

One of my current favourites is the Bourjois Colour Boost 'Proudly Naked'. This crayon has the shine of a lip gloss, the moisturising element of a lip balm and a hint of colour. It doesn't look much when swatched or in the bullet but once on the lips is a gorgeous shade and just enough visible colour for day-to-day.

Similar to the Bourjois Colour Boost, but for a few pounds cheaper is the Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick 'Belle'. They are very similar, but I adore the Seventeen packaging and it's perfect for carrying around in your handbag. The lid comes with a flip out mirror which is perfect for on the go as you don't then have to go digging around your handbag for a mirror, so the perfect 2 in 1.

Oh the dreaded thought of the hair stuck in the lip gloss moment, but somehow I still manage to accumulate lip glosses to try. My first go-to lip gloss, is the Essence XXXL Lipgloss 'Taste the Sweets'*. Despite the slightly sickly sweet scent and taste, the colour is stunning and looks gorgeous on the lips.

Another of my favourite lip products is the Tanya Burr Lip Gloss 'Picnic In The Park' this is certainly the most adventurous lip product in this post as shock horror, it's hot pink. Don't worry, it's quite muted (you can relax). I like to apply this on top of a nude lipstick as I find that they work really well together and the gloss adds just enough colour to the lips for everyday. If you are feeling adventurous it can be worn on it's own and the pigmentation is amazing.

Last but not least is my beloved Revlon Lip Butter 'Peach Parfait'. You guessed it, it's a subtle pink with a brown hue, but it is slightly different to the others. It contains gold shimmer which help to create a subtle illusion that your lips are bigger and fuller. In addition, I love the moisturising element in the formula, so it doesn't fade awkwardly.

Swatches left to right, Bourjois Colour Boost 'Proudly Naked', Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick 'Belle', Essence XXXL Lipgloss 'Taste the Sweets', Tanya Burr Lipgloss 'Picnic in the Park' and Revlon Lip Butter 'Peach Parfait'.

What are your favourite fuss free lip products?

MAGNITONE LUCID CLEANSING BRUSH REVIEW

MAGNITONE LUCID-DAZZLING BLUE-£69.99*

Skincare is certainly one of my favourite things and, I have to admit that I don't ever skip removing my make-up at night and doing my skincare routine no matter how tired I feel.

A few weeks ago a new skincare gadget fell through my letter box and I couldn't wait to give it a go. Once I had given it a charge (which Magnitone recommend to maximise it's battery life) I put it to the test. During your first week of use, Magnitone also recommend that you use the sensitive setting to allow your skin to come to terms with using it for the first time. Can I just point out how easy it is to  use? One button on the front of the device which you press once for a normal cleanse and twice for sensitive. That's it! So if you aren't a fan of using complicated gadgets then I think this is the right product for you.

After applying my cleanser onto my dry face, my current cleanser of choice is the No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, perfect for giving your skin a good clean whilst being gentle on the skin, I switch on the Magnitone and let it work it's magic. I gently move it around my face for 1 minute and to make sure you cleanse your face for the correct amount of time, the Magnitone not only automatically stops after 1 minute but also beeps every 20 seconds to remind you to move onto the next part of your face. I then use a warm flannel to remove the cleanser from my skin and proceed with the rest of my skincare routine.

The Magnitone Lucid can be used in the morning or evening and is fully waterproof so you can use it in the shower so you don't add any time onto your day. How do you charge something that's waterproof? In the box you also receive a magnetic charger which then attaches itself to the front of the device and then you plug in the cord which attaches to the plug.

Don't let the price put you off, this cleanser brush will last a lifetime and once bought you can share it with your family as long as you each have your own brush head. What's more, Magnitone have given me a 20% off discount code for you to use if you decide to purchase your very own Magnitone Lucid. If blue isn't your colour, there is also pink, mint green and yellow to choose from so a colour perfect for everyone. To receive 20% off your Magnitone Lucid, click here, and use the discount code LaurenD20 which will make it come to £56.00.

Overall I have found this to be a fantastic edition to my skincare routine and it will be especially useful during the rest of my exam season as I am unfortunately prone to stress spots and so far, this is keeping them at bay. I love how gentle this is on the skin and takes only one minute per day to use.

Have you tried the Magnitone Lucid?

BEAUTY LOVES: APRIL

I'm back again, with another instalment of Beauty Loves, a round up of what I have been loving over the past month.

Recently I seem to have accumulated a few mascaras to try, so I will slowly work my way through trying each of them as I really don't see the point in having three different mascaras on the go. Unfortunately, my sample of Benefit Roller Lash was becoming slightly dried up and past it's best so I reached into my make-up draws and opened up the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes 'So Couture So Black' Mascara and I have been blown away. I think this has to be the best mascara I have ever tried and that is a big statement for me to make. I find that it holds a curl all day, separates my lashes and adds volume and it doesn't go clumpy if you add more coats, my perfect mascara. I certainly recommend you try this if you are in the market for a new mascara.

I have to admit that when I first received the Billion Dollar Brows 'Hint of a tint' and Brow powder to try I was very apprehensive about the colour match and whether the products would be too dark for my brows. I shouldn't have worried as I use both products daily to achieve natural brows. I am certainly not one of those people that spends a lot of money or time on my brows so I just comb through them, shape them a little with the Brow Powder and then set with the Brow Gel and I'm ready to take on the world. What I really love about these products though is that they last all day and don't make your brows crunchy.

When I recently went into Mac, I chose three eyeshadows to try, one of which was 'All That Glitters', a champagne with a pink/peach hue. This eyeshadow would suit all skin tones as it creates a gorgeous wash of shimmer over the eye. It is certainly worth investing in, as I can see it being one of my all time favourite eyeshadows.

Recently, I haven't been missing out bronzer in my daily makeup routine, and I have been reaching for the Soap and Glory Solar Powder to add some colour back onto my pale complexion. If you haven't tried this, it's certainly worth it. The powder is very creamy and easy to blend and it works well as a contour and bronzer, you could even use it as an eyeshadow, so it's a good multi-task product.

You all know how much I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's as a base before eyeshadow, but when recently looking back into my collection I noticed that I hadn't used the L'Oreal Eye Primer Crayon in a while. It's a great neutral waxy pencil which corrects any veins or discolouration on the eyelid. Due to the waxy consistency it is quite difficult to blend, but I like to apply some to my finger tips and then gently take it across the eyelid.

Are there any products you have loved using in April?
